Inequity: Women’s Individual and Social Empowerment Responses (iWiser) Lab is located at Wilfrid Laurier University, at the Waterloo, Canada Campus.
Dr. Mindi Foster, a faculty member in the Department of Psychology, directs the iWiser lab to explore how women experience and respond to gender discrimination.
Our research examines
- Women‘s Individual empowerment responses to inequality such as coping strategies and resilience
- Women‘s Social empowerment responses to inequality such as Collective Action
- And, the how those different types of responses may increase women’s well-being and resilience in the face of persistent gender discrimination
- Our current focus is on how all these aspects are applied to Social Media Activism
